Meet Dr. John Hofler, PhD & Free Spirit

Share

Although he’s not a naturopathic doctor, we’re featuring Sanesco’s Chief Scientific Officer during Naturopathic Medicine Week because his role at Sanesco is a critical one: it’s thanks to his expertise and exacting work that Neurolab™ meets regulatory approvals and is CLIA/COLA certified. Meet Dr. John Hofler, PhD, with over 30 years of experience in diagnostic assay development, including consulting, and international collaborative immunoassay development. It might seem contradictory after a job description like his, but on his own time he is quite the free spirit. We just know we wouldn’t be where we are without him.

Q. What is your proudest moment relative to work done with Sanesco?
Developing the current Quality Control System. Sanesco has now passed 2 COLA audits.

Q. What are 3 words to describe your career/practice?
Learning, Developing, Teaching

Q. What is the most important thing you have learned in the last five years?
I’m not too old to learn and do new things.

Q. What music is on your iPhone/Android phone?
One tends to gravitate to the music of your teens and twenties. Hence I listen to a lot of ‘old oldies’.

Q. What’s on your bucket list?
Nothing, I do things and go places as the opportunity arises.

Q. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Raw Witchetty Grubs in Australia! They have a nutty flavor and are not slimy.
