Sanesco’s next webinar, entitled ‘Inside the Upset Stomach: Connections Between Stress, Adrenal Dysfunction and the Microbiome’ will be presented by renowned naturopath, Dr. Donielle Wilson (aka Dr. Doni) on Thursday, May 18th at 7:00 pm EDT.

The webinar will illustrate how stress and elevated cortisol impact gut health, and describe the gut-related side effects of a stressful life style. Dr. Doni will explain how different factors, such as neurotransmitter and gut flora dysfunction, can cause diarrhea and constipation. She will also explore natural treatment options for IBS and IBD, including those related to neuro-hormonal rebalancing.

Symptoms Don’t Always Reflect Probable Cause

Dr. Doni has been utilizing neurotransmitter and hormone testing as a first step in rebalancing patients’ neuroendocrine systems for over 15 years, ever since the testing first became available. She counts on the HPA Profile from NeuroLab® and Sanesco®to establish patient baseline neurotransmitter and hormone levels that correlate with the patient’s clinical picture.  With this assessment tool, she incorporates gentle investigative techniques to uncover the root cause of illness and create individual programs that guide the body back to health.

Dr. Doni believes so strongly in the benefits of testing neurotransmitter and hormone levels in her patients, she wrote a book about it! The Stress Remedy Book, available from drdoni.com and major booksellers, is a deep dive into the causes of stress, how it affects your body, and how to rebalance and heal your body. “I test cortisol and neurotransmitter levels for each and every patient because symptoms don’t always reflect probable cause,” said Dr. Doni.  “The results of Sanesco’s HPA test give me the starting point on which I base any dietary or lifestyle changes.”

Dr. Doni’s Cross-Sectional View: Looking at Stress and Digestion Together

No stranger to health issues related to the microbiome and stress, Dr. Doni is a recognized expert on leaky gut, food sensitivities, and digestive troubles.

“Not only do we know stress upsets adrenal health – it also affects digestive health,” states Dr. Doni. “Looking at stress and digestion together gives us what I call a cross-sectional view of the patient’s health. We have to address both simultaneously in order to break the vicious cycle of dysfunction and imbalance.”

Dr. Doni also specializes in helping patients address and overcome autoimmune diseases such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Crohn’s and Rheumatoid arthritis; hormone imbalances (adrenal, thyroid and blood sugar imbalances); genetic mutations such as MTHFR; sleep and mood related issues; immune related concerns (allergies and frequent infections); and women’s health, fertility, and cervical dysplasia. She helps with the prevention of chronic health conditions overall.

Dr. Doni holds a doctorate in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University and is a certified professional midwife (CPM) and doula, and a certified nutrition specialist (CNS).
