Adaptacin™: Clinical Pearls from Nurse Practitioner, Kelly Engelmann

Share

I love Adaptacin™ and I am excited to share with you how I utilize it in my clinical practice.

While there are many products that provide adrenal support available on the market, and I use many of them, I prefer Adaptacin™ because it is so effective.  I have seen superior outcomes with symptom reduction and patient compliance, which is why I keep coming back to this favorite.

Here are a few reasons why I love Adaptacin™ and what sets this supplement in a class by itself compared to other adrenal products:

  • It’s unique combination “cocktail” of ingredients
  • the sourcing of the ingredients
  • the amounts of each ingredient

Not only does Adaptacin™ contain adrenal cortex and adaptogens, but it also contains cofactors for adrenal support and the Sanesco® Neuro Support Blend™ (NSB) formula.*

There are three main patient scenarios where I have found Adaptacin™ to be most useful:

  1. Peri-menopausal/ menopausal patients who are highly inflamed and symptomatic with fatigue and sleep disturbances*
  2. Patients who are anxious or stressed*
  3. Patients who have an increased amount of stress during episodic times and stressful life events who need adrenal support as a buffer*

Using Adaptacin™ with the Peri-Menopausal or Post-Menopausal Patient:

I often recommend Adaptacin™ for peri-menopausal or post-menopausal patients who present typical symptoms of hormone imbalance, but also have inflammatory conditions where bioidentical hormone replacement therapy might not be wise until that inflammatory process is under better control.* My strategy is to work on blood sugar control and lowering levels of inflammation for a 6 – 8 week time frame prior to the initiation of Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT). During the first 6 – 8 week phase, I will use Adaptacin™ as a way to support the hormone pathways by alleviating some stress off the adrenals and providing the patient some symptom relief.* Due to the way Adaptacin™ is formulated, it gives the patient flexibility with dosing from one tablet in the morning in mild cases, or two tablets in the morning and two tablets at noon if needed. I have found this strategy very useful from a symptom standpoint, and it gives me an opportunity to work on the inflammatory process which may interfere with proper utilization of sex hormones.

Using Adaptacin™ with Anxious Patients:

We live in a stressful world and it seems like every day the stressors increase. Sanesco’s NeuroWellness Program™ is an excellent way for patients to fully understand the impact of stress on their bodies and how it may create a wear and tear effect. In this patient situation, I utilize Adaptacin™ after inhibitory support has been initiated with Lentra™ and Prolent™.  Again, the dosage of Adaptacin™ may vary depending on the patients’ allostatic load. The beauty here is that you can be confident in utilizing the Sanesco® products together without concerns of overdosing on any one ingredient, as they were specifically designed to be layered.

Using Adaptacin™ for Patients Under Episodic Stress:

I often utilize Adaptacin™ in my practice by working it in as part of patients’ long-term wellness plans. As I stated earlier, life happens and stress happens. It’s nice for patients to have a tool to help buffer the major stressors in their lives, such as: death of a loved one, job loss or change, a move…the list could go on. I don’t believe in using Adaptacin™, or any product for that matter, as a crutch. I always make sure stress management techniques are in place in addition to therapeutic treatments. I strongly believe in helping patients become aware of the importance of stress management, and how mindful self-care may prevent the consequences of the unchecked stress response.

Adaptacin™ is only available through licensed healthcare practitioners. Practitioners interested in using Adaptacin™ with their patients may contact Sanesco® to open an account and get started using Sanesco’s unique clinical approach to assessing, monitoring, and correcting neurotransmitter and hormone imbalances.
